Healthy Head of Hair (Triple H)

The health of your hair, which we affectionately refer to as the "Triple H" (Healthy Head of Hair), serves as a reflection of your overall well-being. The condition of your hair is closely tied to your physical and emotional health. The nourishment your hair receives is a direct result of the nutrients from the food you consume. Hair and scalp health relies on unimpeded blood flow since nutrients are transported to these areas via the bloodstream. Scalp massages play a vital role in promoting healthy blood circulation.

Transitioning from chemically treated hair to natural hair can be a daunting decision for many. Contrary to popular belief, the "Big Chop" is not the only path to take; it offers instant transformation but may not be suitable for everyone. Going natural can be a smoother journey if you are well-prepared, patient, and committed. With the "Big Chop," your styling options are limited to the extent of the cut you opt for, as some individuals let their hair grow out before the chop.

For those who wish to preserve their length and gradually make the transition, the "Big Chop" is not necessary. This method involves regular trims over time. Hair typically grows at a rate of about half an inch per month, so this approach demands patience. Consistently trimming a half-inch every 4 to 6 weeks keeps your hair length unchanged. In essence, no "Big Chop" is needed.

At Pre'Vail, we're here to support your transition, regardless of the method you choose. We're available to answer your questions and provide guidance on at-home maintenance. If you ever find yourself unsatisfied with a service, please let us know; your satisfaction is our top priority.

Understanding the transition process is crucial when moving from straight to natural hair. The initial three months require strength and determination. When the new growth reaches about an inch, doubt can creep in, but it's important to recognize that you're managing two different textures. Focus on changing the texture of the straight hair rather than straightening the new growth to prevent heat damage and encourage shrinkage.

Styling during the early stages of transitioning can be challenging. If you choose not to undergo the "Big Chop" and instead trim your hair as it grows, styling shouldn't be a struggle. Many clients appreciate "Combo Styles" for their low maintenance, which can last up to three weeks. This style combines two or more techniques and works well for those transitioning and those with significant shrinkage.
